Open Data Week will take place this year from March 5 to 13, 2022. We are building the program and looking for people to share their work, expertise, and enthusiasm for open data in NYC. Submit your ideas and help us put on a fun and engaging festival!

This year, we will co-host our 6th annual NYC Open Data Week festival with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics (MODA) and Data through Design. The program will offer virtual and in-person events that engage participants around open data representative of  the city’s unique diversity from across the five boroughs.

We are looking for ALL kinds of engagements to take place throughout the week— as standalone events and/or as part of NYC School of Data*. In the past, organizers have:

  • led trainings that teach people about specific open datasets
  • hosted talks about the state of open data in NYC
  • showcased tools or applications they built for New Yorkers to harness open data
  • held hackathons or mapathons to address unique challenges
  • organized street performances and parades that embody open data (!)
  • and more

There are many ways you can participate!

We can’t wait to hear your ideas, whether they are rough sketches, grand visions, or anything in between. Check out what we’re looking for and submit your proposals here today. We will start reviewing submissions on, Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Please submit by Wednesday, January 12th, 2022.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ping us at team@open-data.nyc. You can also keep in the loop with us by subscribing to our Open Data Week 2022 mailing list.

Happy Holidays!
