Context
For Open Streets in New York City to be a success, the NYC’s Department of Transportation depends on community partners to staff and schedule volunteers. These volunteers move barriers twice a day. Sometimes they perform mid-day shifts and repair them. Additionally, community partners help activate open streets by coordinating various community activities like artistic performances, food drives, community clean ups, events for children, open culture events, community cultural events, and extend open space for local businesses to operate.
This OpenStreetsNYC Toolkit was built to help community partners manage the logistics of volunteers, time, and communication.
This toolkit is sponsored by a generous donation by Airtable’s COVID-19 relief program.

Logistics management of forms, volunteers, calendars, partners, automated email confirmations and event scheduling.
