NYC Peoples’ Tech Assemblies

Throughout the COVID pandemic, the digital divide and role of technology has been ever present. Students of all ages engaged in e-learning, many adults worked remotely for the first time, and online services from medical services, banking, to retail delivery have transitioned from being luxury services to essential. Those who were not connected and not privy to a digital education were left behind.

Join the Peoples’ Tech Assemblies as we listen, learn, and recommend how technology can improve our neighborhoods, homes, and give us opportunities for tomorrow.

The New York City Office of the Public Advocate, The Office of the Manhattan Borough President, BetaNYC, New America’s Public Interest Technology team, The Urban Tech Hub at the Jacobs Cornell-Technion Institute, The College of Staten Island, CivStart, volunteer advisor Ariel Kennan and a collection of volunteer facilitators are inviting you to share your ideas and questions on how NYC government uses technology through a series of in-person and virtual events through mid-March 2022. With support from volunteer facilitators across all five boroughs, we will engage with YOU on how technology plays a role in your daily lives.

We want to learn from you and listen to what you have to say about technology across the five boroughs. Make your voice heard!
