** Recap of last night’s transit / transport hacknight **

Last night we had a great selection of projects. A majority of them have been posted as comments to last night’s meetup page. If you haven’t posted your community announcement, please do so.

Also, you should note that BetaNYC is fighting to strengthen the City’s freedom of information law, strengthen our open data law, and place more municipal information online in a machine readable format. In the coming weeks, be prepared for a special announcement. In the meantime, check out what we have said to City Council.

** Upcoming Events to note **

** Join BetaNYC’s discussion lists. **

** Check out Bushwick’s Freespace!! **

Freespace is an open and collective event space located in Bushwick. It is open to all who want to host cross community events. If you are interested in doing an event, check out http://www.freespacenyc.org and email < mia@efficientcities.com >.

BeamCenter, BetaNYC, Mouse, and 596acres will host a panel discussion on “Making Tools.” This is part of Creators and the City, a series of civic conversations sponsored by Efficient Cities, Build It Green and Ar & Dee and hosted by [freespace nyc].

** Noel is looking for a safe space instructor **

The framework of safe® spaces is core to BetaNYC. By the end of the year, I would like to work with someone or an organization who can help us customize the LGBTQA vision of safe® spaces for civic hacking / NYC tech events. I’d like work on something that enshrines inclusive tech communities AND has educational components for organizers and attendants. If you know of anyone or any organization, please make an introduction to < noel@betaNYC.us >

Thanks,
– BetaNYC Organizing Team
